Pond Construction

Pond Construction
Herb Garden Installation
During the summer of 1999, we reconstructed the gazebo pond on our nursery grounds, taking advantage of the latest pond construction techniques, materials, and systems.  We photographed this large project throughout every stage of the construction to demonstrate the process we use to build ponds.  Although most residential garden pond jobs are on a much smaller scale than this one, our large pond project is still a good model for showing the steps we follow.

The following links are interactive slide shows requiring Macromedia Flash Player.  When you click on one of the links below, we will automatically detect whether your browser has the correct Flash plug-in and if necessary, direct you to a site to download the plug-in for free.
Warning: These slide shows contain many photographs which must be pre-loaded before the show can begin.  They will take several minutes to load if you are using a low-bandwidth connection (56kbps or slower), particularly if internet traffic is heavy at the time of day you are visiting.  Please be patient while the presentation loads.  When you see the first slide or photograph appear on your screen, the download is complete.

Click here or on the photo strip above to see another pond project that we completed directly in front of the main doors of the garden center on our grounds.  This pond was built in a single day, start to finish, on July 1, 2003 (we had a lot of helpers!).  Note: Be sure to use the scroll bar to see all four photos.  If you have "Automatic Image Resizing" selected in Internet Explorer's settings (the default setting), this image will not display at full size unless you hover the mouse pointer over the image until this resize button appears: , and then click this button.
Here's another viewpoint of the completed pond:
