ranks of the horticulture industry’s top independent garden centers when it
was named one of Today’s Garden
Center’s Revolutionary 100.

’s Revolutionary 100 program, now in its fourth year, surveys garden center
owners and managers and culminates in a listing of the 100 most revolutionary
garden centers in the nation. It is open to all independent garden centers,
large and small, and is based on leadership and innovation, not on size or
revenue.

Garden
center owner and managers across the
United States
fill out the online questionnaire covering topics such as employee training,
industry involvement, profitability, marketing, use of technology, purchasing,
and customer and community service. The entrants are ranked according to a point
system, and the 100 top entries make the list.
Gledhill
Nursery has been in business since 1922. Known
as
West Hartford
’s secluded secret, the garden center sits on 8 acres of park like grounds.
Beautifully landscaped winding paths lead you to display gardens, a
nature trail and running garden railway. Children
enjoy our play train area, putting green, and koi ponds.
You will find quality nursery stock, outdoor living furniture and unique
accessories. The store’s elaborate
gift shop boasts upper-end chimes, gardening essentials and a complete birding
department. Some of the annual
events include Art & Craft fair, seasonal open houses, Fall Festival,
seminars and promotional weekends. A
full-service landscape division is on-site for design work, consultation and
installation.
